Biathlon

Biathlon is a winter sport that combines two disciplines: cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Athletes compete in a race format where they ski a certain distance and, at designated points, stop to shoot at targets while using a small-caliber rifle. The event tests both physical endurance and marksmanship skills, as competitors must manage their heart rate and breathing to shoot accurately after intense exertion. Biathlon events can vary in distance and race structure, including sprints, pursuits, and mass starts. The sport is governed by the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and is a prominent event in the Winter Olympic Games.
