Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net, typically using feet, but players can also use their heads and torsos, except for the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within their penalty area. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Football is governed by the Laws of the Game, set out by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), and is organized at various levels globally, including amateur and professional leagues, national competitions, and international tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. The sport is one of the most popular and widely followed games in the world, with millions of players and fans participating in its various levels and forms. Football emphasizes teamwork, skill, strategy, and fitness, making it a dynamic and engaging sport for both players and spectators.
