Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England, comprising 20 clubs that compete against each other. Established in 1992, it replaced the Football League First Division as the highest level of English football. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship. Each season, teams play 38 matches (19 home and 19 away), and points are awarded based on match outcomes—three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. The Premier League is known for being one of the most competitive and popular football leagues globally, attracting significant television contracts, sponsorship deals, and a diverse range of international players.
